Children's Author Prize

Winner of New National Literacy Trust Children's Author Prize revealed

The winner of the New Children’s Author Prize was announced last night at a celebration event in London. Teacher Emma Cox beat over 400 entries to win the award. Her book Malkin Moonlight, which tells the story of a cat and its sixth sense, will be published by Bloomsbury in summer 2016. The competition has raised over £20,000, which will go towards The National Literacy Trusts work to tackle low literacy levels in communities across the UK.

Award Ceremony date confirmed

Just a quick update, now the Snooker is over  (and the green baize packed away once again) we have had confirmation from the world famous Crucible Theatre that we are booked in their diary for Thursday 12th November  for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award Ceremony!

We are really looking forward to a bumper attendance this year as we have had a record number of schools sign up for the project. I am sure all the children and young people will be very excited to hear the results announced for the very first time at the ceremony and meeting lots of authors and illustrators.
